I have a 92 240 stock 16 vavle motor. No mods at all. I have been having probelms w/ it breaking down on the highway at speeds of 80 mph. Around town it will not break. This has happen 3 times to me. Each one was a Diff transmission. But all self blew up at the speed around 80 mph after being on the high way for about 30 mins It has lost reverse in all of themI own a Auto repair shop. And i have installed a hugh transmission cooler long time ago, After each transmission installed i have cleaned and checked the cooler lines and check for flow. No problems there. I was also told to remove the check ball in my last unit, Because the tail section will starve when it sticks.I have done that too. Iam at a lost Has anyone ever gone thruany transmission like this. But only on the highway does it blow apart.. But it does go into 2nd gear and gets me home.Plsz plsz help me if you have any ideas to why this happen.Thnxs Brian......

That's because the Auto is a boat anchor and should be treated at such. Save your effort and swap to 5-speed. The car is actually fun to drive then and the cost is cheap to do.

god you sound like such a dumbass..

people that bash another transmission b/c they're all f&f with a manual obviously know nothing about transmissions....your post is noob useless.

Ok, on to the problem..you checked flow to your cooler and out of it, but have you checked the rest of the lines that actually lead back to the transmission? It sounds like your transmission is possibly starving.

When you're swapping trannies, what is being trasferred over from the old trannies??
