as any other nissan car? The front enclosures in particular. Can the ones in a 91 Q be taken out and plugged any other vehicles and vise versa. And are there any other Bose amped vehicles that use the same size amp enclosures for the fronts?? I have a blown front and wanted to put something in there until I can make a deal with Bose about replacements. But in the meantime the sound in the car is dead.Any help would be appreciated.

More than likely jaysq your factory amplifiers for the speakers are toast. The 91 Q at my house has damaged front amplifiers. The rears still work fine, so the fronts are disconnected for now. The driver (speaker itself) is probably in fine shape. The amplifiers for the Q have specific equalization properties that make them vehicle specific. Not to say that other Bose amplifiers would not work in a pinch, but it would not sound right and it would be going out of your way for a temporary substitute. When you do something about those amps you should contact these guys...

They are who I trust for Infiniti Bose repair and are the real deal. If I were you, I would remove the box or have it removed for repair when possible. You will still have sound from the rear as the 6x9 (rear speakers) will not be affected by removing the fronts. Here is a link describing in detail with quality pictures how to remove them yourself. http://carstereohelp.com/stere...e.htm

Beware of cheap Bose imitations such as "Amp Options". These are bad amps. The only replacement amp that I would suggest is made by a reputable company called Peripheral. The model is Peripheral PBAR. Each amp is new and retails for $199 per unit. For less than that price, you can have your Q45 Bose ampifiers repaired with a warranty at carstereohelp.com.

So there are a few options for you. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Wow! thanks for the info, the sites are a big help. But I still would like to know if there any other vehicles beside the Q that use the same amp/speaker combo in the fronts.

I saw a post about 95-97 Millenia's front combo being able to plug into the front harness of a Q. Any others?

In that case, I believe that the mid 90's Cadillac Eldorado Bose front speaker amps can be installed in the Q's boxes. They have different equalization, but would work. The J30 should have a similar amp as the Q. Remember also, any amps from the Q's from 90-96 Bose will work. Just make sure that they do in fact actually operate.
