My '91 Q now has 105 k miles on it, mostly highway. The ride seems to be getting a little harsh in the front end. The steering is tight and my tire wear is very even and there do not seem to be any alignment issues. This summer I plan to have front end work done before I have it aligned and get new tires. I'm sure it will need shocks and upper links among other things.

I'd like to start purchasing the replacement parts now, then take everything to T3 this summer and have them installed. Can anyone provide a checklist of parts that I'm likely to need?

Thanks,

Tim

Tim.... Why do you want to take it to T3, you can do it very easily or at least a decent independent could do it...

When I drove your Q i noticed your suspension just feels a little worn out... Still rode better than my old Q before i did anything

Anyway heres what you want to do....

1. All 4 tokico blue shocks2. All new dust boots and strut mounts3. Upper links4. Tension rods (bushings)5. Sway bar bushings/end link bushings.

That should be about everything...

If youd like a little extra handling, get an active rear sway bar kit from Joe... its about $300, and it really helps, especially since the standard Q (non T) doesnt even have a bar... Im upgrading to an active bar here soon (hopefully) and if you want you can have my Q45t bar... 15.9mm vs 20mm, but ive heard people complain of harshness with the 20mm bar.. Whatever you want to do... ALSO, i would act quickly, check this thread and get one of these..... I had these on both my Q45s (front strut tower brace) and it really helps.. Youll love it, plus at $30 you really cant go wrong!!!

Ive done all this stuff on my Q before (well i took it all apart) and i could easily do all that stuff in a weekend of easy work..... Trust me its easiest to do it all at once...

EDIT: Thanks for the help with the driveshaft..

King pin bearings, outer tie rod ends, and steering rack bushings.

Do King Pin bearings have to be pressed in?
