91Q brake lights bad

I wrote before on this and Still need to understand how both lowers go at the same time while the upper light still works. I have replaced all bulbs with Sylvania LL's and still nothing lower.

All contact points look good as new on both sides, dealer wants almost $500 to replace cluster housings but I don't want to buy if not the problem. I'm somewhat mechanical but my electrical skills are pretty much limited to stereo system issues. Please help.

After more research on brakes here I got a clue that led me to the brake light sensor in the trunk. I pulled, cleaned the connections and replaced the sensor and VOILA!! Brakes lights are back on! Thanks for all the previous posts guys. NICO is the shiznit.

Now stick to OEM bulbs.
