I have a 91 Nissan 240sxKA24DE N/A

So i am having a problem with my car not starting. A lot of people here might be familiar with this already due to me posting a bunch of crappy problems in the past couple of days. This will be the last and only thread and im gonna break it down into pieces of what the problem with my car is and all the things i have tryed doing.

Ok first i try and start the engine. Sound of my starter works and my engine is turning over. But car is stil not starting.

Battery is fullReplaced my distributor capReplaced my distributor rotorNew plug wiresNew ignition coilNew fuel filterNew spark plugs

So i try and start the car up again but nope, same thing happens.

Fuel Pump - So many people have said that i should check if my fuel is pumping. I unplug the top hose of the fuel filter and turn the ignition on. I get a lot of fuel coming out in a straight stream line. So that means my fuel is pumping right?

Timing - Many believe that it is my timing thats giving me this problem and the car will not run if timing is wrong. But how can my timing be wrong if my engine is turning over?

What should i do guys?

how did the "not starting" issue start?? was it running when it quit? or, was it a first try in the morning someday??

you may have broken the timing chain. it's hard to do but very possible. and it will still turn over just the cams won't be turning. it might sound like a rotory trying to start. or like it's spinning faster than it should on start up. good luck

engines need spark, air, and fuel...

Pinch the incoming fuel line and see if it starts.

i don't recomend this as something to do every time but one time shouldn't hurt it much.Use a very very small spray of starting fluid and while it is getting it into the intake gas the throttle a little.I know that starting fluid creates major pressure in the intake but a little bit and i mean little should not hurt.If it does fire and it bogs down and dies i think the problem is fuel related.I do not see your car jumping time and if the chain broke i am pretty sure the ka24de is a interference engine and you would know if it broke. You need to get the fuel pressure checked at the rail after the regulator to ensure the proper pressure exists.

Have you tried swapping in a different crank angle sensor/distributor? I had the exact same issue after storing my s13. Turned out the CAS had died.

Check the timing. It does not matter how the timing could have altered itself, its just one of those things that happen. Gear teeth start wearing thin, chains in time will stretch who knows?Remove the valve cover, turn the engine manually, and check your timing marks and disributor alignment. What do you have to loose?Make sure the plug wires are correctly installed. Remember, the distributor spins counter-clockwise. Firing order: 1-3-4-2.Lastly, make sure you are actually getting spark. Start with those things.

I was driving one day and all of a sudden the car starts dying.. gas pedal, steering and clutch were very stiff. I thought i have stalled the car so i start the car up again no problem. It did it 4 times until the last time it didnt want to start anymore and thats when i realised that there was something wrong with the car. I tryed starting the car again and it just wouldnt start. After about 30 mins it started then died again after 10 seconds just on idle. Then i try to turn it on again the next morning and now it wont start at all.

Something similar happened to me a while back.Driving home minding my own business and the car died. Had fuel, had spark, what I did not have was cam rotation. My timing gear broke in two.Take your valve cover off, and CHECK THE TIMING already. Hopefully this did not happen to you, and it will be something simple like a loose connection or faulty fuel pump and we will laugh about how simple the fix was later. But the chance exists something bad happened. Now find out definitively please.
