so i lost the key to my q so i pulled the back of the ignition and started it by turning the little white plastic thing. all was fine couldnt lock the doors though. well i got out and the doors locked automatically and activated the alarm. now the car wont start, well you cant disable the alarm without the key. i cant afford to pay to get a new key and have to go to work. is there any way to bypass the alarm or any tricks to get the car to start please help.

I suggest you find that key, or some how get a new one.

Nice to know that the Q locks it self and activates the alarm after its hot wired.

But I think if you can't afford the key right now in your current condition, then it sounds like you won't be able to afford to keep the Q down the line.

Welcome to NICO.

If you "love your car," "it seriously makes no sense" to leave it unlocked, even in Lake Stevens.

I know, I've lived in Everett before.

How'd you end up with 1 key? They originally came with 5. I bought mine with 3.

Dude. When this is all settled, you really should just get a new key. $7 for a blank on eBay. Hopefully you can get a key made from the VIN. Worst case, you get a new lock set.

It's the alarm that won't let the car start. It's aftermarket I suppose so only way to do it is to find the alarm box and disconnect it.Happened to my friends Camry.Lights started blinking and the car wouldn't start. He unplugged the alarm and it started.Do at your own risk because it may be different.Hope you get it running somehow.I got one key also though I dunno when I'll get a double since it's so much $$ for a key.Ah I guess it's worth it.

Getting a "cheap" emergency spare is okay, just don't use it every day.

True.I'm thinking about making two spares. One to keep at home and another to have hiding somewhere around the car.
