I am relatively new to this "game" so bare with me.I have found a 91 240 coupe. Looking for parts to fit my 93 240 Vert (ie 5 speed swap, seats, dash etc.)Are all the parts interchangeable, OR was there a model change that would render this car useless for me. Any comments would be appreciated.

the 89-90 models were a little different in some areas.. mostly cosmetic.

But between 91 and 93 there should be no difference for almost any part you find. I think you'd be safe.

the 91 is a hard top, & as I said, my 93 is a vert. Except for the changes made during my vert conversion, I should be safe eh???Just thought of something...... the AC should be able to bolt on as well right???

Yep.. your 91 and the 93 'vert were identical twins when they rolled off the assembly line. The 'verts were redirected to ASC where they were then converted into droptops.

So other than the obvious differences (convertible top, pump, rams, frame) and the noticable differences (frame reenforcement, doors with seatbelt pillars, crappy interior panels, unique rear quarter windows, etc..).. the two cars are the same.

The 'verts got ABS size rotors and pads in the front to help compensate for extra weight. They got some hefty bracing across the undercarriage to compensate for the lack of a roof. There are a few other things...

The engine/trans is the same between models. It was reported that most 'verts didn't come with A/C.. but I'm seeing lots that do have it. You can pull it out of the coupe and replace it identically into the 'vert. Not sure if the 'vert has the A/C pump bracket still bolted onto the block or not.. you'll have to double check that.

Otherwise... body, suspension, engine, electrical, etc... all identical between cars.

Excellent news! Thanks for the info.... I am sure glad I came across this forum. It will sure make my life easier.

BTW: the '91 has a heads up display in the dash. Do you know if they continued this into the 92 & 93 models, OR why they discontinued it. Seems to me this technology would have been pretty " high tech" back in 1991... I would love to have it in my vert., as the sterring wheel covers my speedo in the position I like to drive in. If it proves to be unreliable, or there was a reason it did not go in the Vert, obviously, I would not put it in. Cheers!!

You might want to look up another member (Dexter) for info on the HUD stuff.. I think he installed the HUD from a coupe into his old convertible. Ask him about it.. he'll help you figure it out.

HUD == costly. Nissan tried to cut the inflated cost of their cars down a bit. I'm sure if you look at the sales of the HUD cars, it would show a trend of people leaning on the lower cost, standard guaged cars.

But that's just speculation, but car companies typically only make things that sell, not things that are cool.

There is a difference between the 89/90 models over the 91+ models. The motors had lots of differences in their accessories. The PS pumps are different and on different sides, the A/C units are different as well.

But none of that affects you, so everything should swap over that you need save for the interior panels. Coupes had different rear interior panels and rear seats.

I would suggest snagging the doors and door panels off the donor coupe if they're in good shape. You may want to consider doing Greg's seat belt modification to your car. It'll drop a good 90 pounds off the car and it'll get rid of the skull knocker door mounted B-pillar.
