I did not buy the car yet do to the rough idle and lack of power. I drove 330 miles to get the car and had to return home because I did not feel good about the running condition. He found out #5 injector was bad. he called me and said he wanted to replace the injectors with new style 370cc purple top from Z1. He wants me to buy the injectors and he said it will take him 10 hours to do the job. He is not charging me labor but I have to cover the parts.

He got a little pissed with me when I asked if I could get the car for a lower price if I paid the $783 for the parts. If the job does take 10 hours labor was I wrong in asking to lower the price?

The brakes also have a hard pedal and a master cylinder is probably the problem. I also asked him to have that checked out and he really got mad and said not to order the parts and now he does not want to sell.

Maybe I am wrong but when you pay out $16,300 for a car you would expect it to be running in tip top condition. Am I crazy or is the seller right?

In my opinion, it should not take 10 hours to swap out injectors. And yes for that much money, even if the car does only have 22k miles, it should be in top condition. I'd be pretty pissed if I paid out 16k and the injectors don't work right.

Anyway, there are two scenarios regarding changing the injectors:

1) He has already used the dremel method on the upper plenum. In this case, swapping out injectors shouldn't take more than 2 hours because he won't need to take off the plenum.

2) He hasn't done the dremel method on the upper plenum. In this case, he will have to take the upper plenum off to get to the injectors, which adds an hour or more depending on how fast he works. It also depends on whether he has done the throttle body coolant bypass, which is possible he hasn't because it only has 22k milese. Either way it shouldn't take more than 5 hours unless he's really really taking his time.

He said he was taking off the plenum. Thanks for the reply and I might pass unless he can cover the cost of the injectors.

Yeah I fully agree with you, if you are willing to pay that much he should be willing to take some money off since it's not in top condition.

Seller sent me an email and he is willing to work something out. He is installing 660 injectors, ECU upgrade and high flow intake. He said it would add maybe 60 extra HP. That seems a little high for the upgrades.
I plan on using the car as my daily driver. I hope the gas mileage does does not go down that much with the larger injectors. I will check to see if any posts are available.

Well it's good that he agreed to work something out, you can't pay top dollar for something that has problems already. Anyway, with those mods alone I don't think you'll see a 60hp gain, maybe like 30ish though depending on exactly what he's doing. Bigger injectors may affect the mileage a little bit, but shouldn't make a huge difference as long as the tune is done right. 660cc is an odd size for our cars, most people have either 550/555cc or 740cc, but it shouldn't matter if it's tuned for 660's. IIRC 660's are manufactured by Denso?

I'd shy away from this deal man. He's either

A) an idiot and knows nothign about this car, in which case I'd be skeptical buying from him
or
B) bullshitting you trying to get this car sold. If this is the case, then there's no telling what's wrong with it that he isn't saying.

Just as someone passing through, I read the auction and all the issues, this seller cares nothing for buyer, only selling the car regardless of actual running condition, the auction said nothing about running poorly and has wasted time AND is now doing unnecessary upgrades as the buyer wants it as a DD and worried about mileage.
1 injector is all it needed...
Stay away from a seller that lies then gets mad when you expect your $$ worth.
