Hi everybody, heard nothing but good things about NICO, anyway, I have an intermittent problem with my 91 Stanza GXE (2.4 KA24E M/T)that has me baffled. Occasionally the car will start hesitating or bucking exactly at 2500 rpm.,strangely, when i pull over and shut off the engine and start the vehicle again things go back to norm. The car runs fine again sometimes for days or sometimes only for a few kms. I can drive the car normally as long as the rpms dont hit 2500- so if i upshift before this you would never know there was a problem. I concluded that the ECU was going into "fail safe mode" abnormally and replaced it with a used one... no luck. I then tried replacing the MAF sensor and cleaned all the connectors with electro-contact cleaner, checked all vacuum lines and other connections, and even did a fuel injection/fuel system purge with a good BG kit, and even threw in a new Nissan fuel filter for good measure...no good either. I should mention there are no codes and i do not have a check engine light on. I am almost out of ideas but I am now thinking TPS , engine speed sensor or maybe an instrument cluster problem since my temp gauge only works sometimes. (probably not related) I am hoping someone out there has heard of this one and can help!! Cheers.

that does sound like a maf issue. i would check the voltage drop across power and ground supply at the maf. also you may want to check the maf signal at the ecm. i wish i could give you wire colors and pin numbers but i dont have it for a stanza.
