A. Don't do it! These rare beauties are getting fewer by the day. Save the Q, save the Actives!

B. Yes, you will need springs. Contact Joe at Scotsdale...they sell a kit that has everything you need including the Tokiko Blue struts.

C. Don't do it. Get a hold of Keith Bowers (texasoil) and look at what it will cost for you to restore you active.

Either restore the active, or buy a standard Q and sell the active to someone who will take care of it....

Long live ACTIVE Q!

well... the car was in an accident and the susspension was dammaged some... ii dont know how much but i do know that one rear actuator was quoted by my local dealer to cost 1200 bucks where as all new shocks and springs may cost that or even less as long as they are inactive... i am not opposed at all to replacing it with standard Q45 shocks but want to know it that means i have to alter any other suspention components( ie control arms etc.) to do so. i am in need of control arms anyway on one side because of the accident but want to weigh the costs if i have to change all four to convert the active to standard

i know it sucks to change a Q45 "A" to a Q45 "A-" but cost is really my concern... even befor the accident it road rough and had a slow leak so all four are in need of restoration... but i just can't... unless there is a way to more closely equate the costs

Call or email Keith Bowers before you do anything else. He's the country's foremost Q45a guru and can tell you exactly what it would take to restore your active.

Please don't convert it, if it's financially possible.

I am with all these other guys. Friends don't let Q45a owners convert.

Search for posts by texasoil and read them all, please.

The multi-link is the same (basically) from active to non active. The tension rods are a little different (one is slightly longer)...

I have a good stock of used 'actuators'. That ealer price is outrageous. No need to 'convert' to a lesser suspension

Hey Keith...I'll be contacting you in the next few weeks. Time to finish the restoration on my silver Q, and start the restoration on the green Q.

Probably going to need 1 set of the 4 accums at the wheels, 2 sets of the 5 other accums, a used actuator, and possibly some of the pressure regulator swich things for both front and rear.

You mentioned at one time that the only significant upgrade in the active in the later G50 was the front and rear pressure switches (sorry, can't come up withe their name off the top of my head and I'm too lazy to look it up). Are they completely interchangeable with the earlier active... and, do you have any from the later models?

Sorry... didn't mean to hijack a thread.
