Hey viewers,I have a '91 Q45 donor car that I'm in the process of parting out. I advertised the transmission and I had someone call the other day asking if it will work in his '96 Q.

I called a local Infiniti dealership and was told that the electricals are different between the '91 and the '96.Does someone have a definitive answer on what year range the '91 transmission will work on?If not the electricals, are the mechanics and dimensions the same? Can I simply remove the wiring harness and use the one from the '96?

Cheers,

Dave

90-93 have the same gear set and 94-96 have a diffferent 1st and 2nd gear set.

So yes, it should work - but with different gearing it will feel different. They are physically the same shape - just different gearing.

TCU will not shift at the right points at redline without a compatible 1993 TCU as it will be expecting the numerically lower 1st and 2nd gear ratios of the later transmission.

1996 G50 is OBD II, but I don't know how that affects the wiring harness for the transmission and TCU.
