Sadly many dealers have few mechanics that have been there long enough to have worked on a G50 transmission. The cost to replace a transmission at a dealer with a Nissan rebuilt will be at least $3,000 to approaching $4,000 -- and that is if the parts guy thinks about the rebuilt part number availability. The transmission replacement cost will send most aging G50s to the salvage yard..DQuintana wrote:Should I expect that the dealer will have technicians with experience in transmission diagnosis/repair/replacement of a 91 Q45, or will their technicians only have training on newer verhicles?
What about shops that specialize in transmissions....
Any advice would be appreciated!
