91 Q45, 4000mi back I had a JDAM engine and transmission installed, there was nothing wrong with the transmission, just had it replaced with a lower mileage unit. About a week ago, while stopped in gear at stoplights, more often when cold, it would have a tendancy to studder and stall. This could be averted by shifting to neutral or taking your foot off the brake. Now the car doesn't move in any forward gear and makes a rattling sound in all forward gears, park and neutral. However, the car does work in reverse and does not "rattle". Any ideas what the problem may be?

The JDAM transmission? What is JDAM, by the way?

Did you do a flush? Pan drop and filter replacement? Install a cooler? On either? A little maintenance history goes a long way diagnosing a car one cannot drive over the net.

Sounds like you just bout into someone else's problems.

JDAM, refers to Japanese domestic auto market, ( I believe). In Japan, vehicles are parted out after 30 to 50k, miles because of expensive government regulations.

That would be JDM, then. Lots of idling time, no guarantees. Read in the posts what T-3 does to rehabilitate their pick of these engines.

Only tranmission replacement worth a darn (excluding custom rebuilds by the likes of levelten) are the Nissan remanufactured ones.
