I've owned my '91 Q for 9 months and yesterday decided to see if the tape deck works. I inserted a tape, the radio cut out and the tape deck lights came on momentarily then went out. I tried all functions and nothing seems to work. I can't eject the tape.

Is there anyway to manually eject the tape? Also, it prevents the radio from working when the tape is stuck inside the deck.

I'm not terribly interested in repairing the tape deck unless it was cheap and easy. I just want to get my radio working again and retrieve the tape.

Suggestions?

Hmm Too bad I threw mine away a few months ago I had a working Q45 tape deck/radio.

I suspect there are a lot of members that have one lying around as changing to CD players has been so popular.

Lets hope they find this thread.

Fred...:)

I'm really not that interested in repair since I listen to CDs rather than tapes. I was just trying to find a way to manually eject the tape so the radio would not be disabled by the tape deck.

I think the problem is a bad power connection within the tape deck because it does not stay on long enough to eject the tape; the display disappears within a second or two after the deck is turned on.

I'm trying to determine how to remove the deck so that I can troubleshoot the power problem long enough to get the deck to eject the tape so it no longer disables the radio.
