91 Q45 - Stock Bose Stereo Question /Can I see your stereo installs?

Can anyone tell me where the front stereo amplifiers are located? They are letting out a horrible squeel and from what I have been told by some of my fellow NICO'ers, (thanks!) it's my front amplifiers. I am going to assume that it is not built into the head unit?

Also, I plan on eventually upgrading the entire system (I know, I'll have to do the whole she-bang at once) and was wanting to see what some of you others are doing - especially with head units and sub boxes. I am basically wanting something with a screen (DVD or maybe Nav if the funds allow) for the head unit. Also, is the trunk overly insulated from the cabin (aka do I need to free up some air passages for subwoofer air to travel into the cabin more freely)?

If the stock system has been retained then they are inside the "pods" that the speakers are mounted in/to.
