91 Q45 Starter intermittently won't turn over

I have had a problem for several years and have never been able to get it resolved. The car will start o.k. for two or three weeks and then for no apparent reason when the key is turned nothing happens, i.e., the starter motor does not turn and everything is quiet. Pulling on the steering wheel and jiggling the shift lever while turning the key at the same time had finally got it working - or maybe not, it might have been just a coincidence. Standing on my head while chanting may have produced the same result eventually

I have had it into several shops over the years, but as it was always working when I took it in they could not simulate the problem. The relay has been replaced. The last time this happened it took my wife over half hour before it responded.

Could this be something to do with the security system? Could the replacement relay have gone bad, and if that is the case what could have caused that? The local Infiniti dealer has never come across this problem.Anyone else heard of it?

Eventually all early Q will end up with intermittent igniton assembly.

I replaced mine at 10 years and~~ 200,000 miles. To avoid extra keys I chose to replace all 5 lock assemblies at the same time.
