91 Q45 power door lock will not release

My drivers side door lock will not release and i cannot open the door. I tried to remove the fuse but the door will not open. Can the door panel be removed with the door closed or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

If I could not get the door open with the external lock or the internal release, I think I would be faced with removing the driver seat then attempting door panel removal from the inside. I've removed my drivers seat recently and it wasn't hard.

You can't take the door panel off with the door closed.. IS the lock lever on the door feel like it's free (like it came detached inside) or is it stuck?

a lock smith should be able to pop the lock open from the outside, then you can open the door.

If you cannot get a locksmith to open the door, here are some pictures for discussion about door internals.



The door lock control rod is under the red dots below with the green plastic stays.



The plastic retainer to hold the control panel cover is notched as circled below. Be careful not to break it.

The armrest slides toward the rear of the car to expose screws.
