Alright, I have looked just about EVERYWHERE to get a little more kick in my Q. I have found almost nothing. Everything I have found was either experimental or expensive (over 6,000). The engine is fine but i jus want more. Anything to add to the performance would be great! So if anyone knows anything I would apppreciate it.

Do a search on NICO ECU or JWT ECU.

Lots to learn here. Welcome in.

To not waste money on other non-performance modifications, read the posts by Q45tech.

As you can see every engine manufacturer has rung out every horse in the old 4.0-4.7 liter V8 category over the last 16 years and have now moved on to the 5-6 liter category in V8 and V10.

The THRUST most want is the torque and the torque is a function of displacement once you have optimize head air flow.

On high rpm engines [32 valve] the bottom end torque is given up for high rpm torque to get higher HP numbers for magazine tests.

ECU and very very loud exhaust.

I'm with tech here. There's no replacement for displacement except for forced induction (includes nitrous). I always talk about swapping in larger american v8s which are affordable to make huge power, but I have yet to do it. Something about being a poor hick farmer is probably most to blame for that. However, if you've ever ridden in a strong domestic car with properly built V8, you know from where the urge comes to do the swap. I love the Q45 engine, if only it were supersized at Arby's first. If the car were a Q85 instead of Q45 (assuming everything was proportionately upsized in the motor), I'd be in heaven. If I ever do swap an engine in the car, it'd be a basic 460 with 4.3" stroker crank. It's cheap, reliable, and 8.7Liters of fun. Even the trans to back it up, a '96+ E4OD is cheap. However, a good torque converter ($650) and computer to control it ($450) are not. Oh well. Nothing I know of for the stock Q besides a little nitrous kit that fits the category of cheap, effective, and easy.
