I asked the same question when I first got here. I was told to nix the muffler idea. The best option is to get custom headers. There really isn't much for the early Q45 in terms of aftermarket performance short of turbo. I've heard rumors of a supercharged Q, but I haven't seen it yet.ozzinc wrote:I have a 91 q45 and im looking to get a performance muffler thats not loud but offers some performance, does anybody have any suggestions.
1.) One needs to read Rswicki's posts before making this erroneous statement.Kiven422 wrote:1.) Dont think custom headers will give you any performance gains.
2.) With a whole exhaust system the engine seems to get up easier. If you just want a muffler you could check out Magnaflow

2..) If your engine "gets up easier", you probably need new motor mounts. Q45tech has commented extensively on muffler and exhaust options.
1.) Looked at it, even got all the pics. By the way, those dyno sheets are pretty funky.maxnix wrote:1.) One needs to read Rswicki's posts before making this erroneous statement.

Excuse me? Should be none if up to snuff.Kiven422 wrote:I was referring to how much less stress the engine seems to have getting through the RPMs.
Wes says he's driven it and he can feel an appreciable difference.Kiven422 wrote:

Well, maybe if you are not over seventeen.youngq45r wrote:you should try it for a day. only 30 min ish to drop the system. an hour to put back on. but trust me, you wont want to. HEHEHE
