My 91 Q45 was runnig great. Suddenly the enging died and when I tried to restart the enging would not turn over at all. I towed the car home hoping the the battery was dead but no luck. After it cooled off for a few minutes it would turn over but with no comprssion. It just sounds like it is spinning. 2 questions:

1) Is this a timing issue such a chain jumping off of guide?

2) If it did jump time, will the pistons hit the vavles on this motor?

Thanks

I towed the car home

Flat bedded of course??? Have the chain guides been replaced?

Have the compression tested on the drivers side bank.

I drove the car 100 miles today and it stalled 1 block from my house so I just towed it with a four wheeler. The Chain guides have not been replaced since I have owned it (3 years).

You may have been lucky and not damaged the transmission.
