On my 91 q45 I have an electrical short somewhere in the car blows the fuse for the interior lights, drivers seat, and chimes. I already clipped the passenger visor vanity light cable because you could see the bare wires

Does anyone know of any other problematic areas I could check for cracked wires or have other ideas?

Are you sure it is a short, or just too much current draw from a non-OEM bulb or bad socket?

I can't even remeber the last time I had to replace a bulb or other electrical component. It's been more than a couple of years since the last bulb burnt out. I don't have any non-OEM add ons either.

I'd start unplugging stuff one at a time. You may be able to put an ohm meter on the fuse terminals and then look for the drop in resistance... if it's taking the fuse out instantly, it's probably a dead short.

Sockets can still corrode and/or short out so look starting with the easiest ones that draw the most current.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

Fuses are time/temperature devices. Unfortunately each manufacture has slightly different quality and proceedures.

Everyone needs an in line ammeter with fuse type probes so the exact current can be measured.

Like the fact that the fuel pump draws 4.1 amps at idle on a 15 amp fuse [13.6 volts].

The current on bulbs changes with exact voltage.
