Anybody have any recommendations for front pads on a 91 Q? Thanks in advance!

Most of us really think the OEM pads are the best all around.

Ask for the "early" formulation" OEM pads.

Others prefer Metal MAtrix over OEM.

Brake pads are so easy to replace that its sometimes better to get the cheap stuff for daily driving. The low-end NAPA TruStop pads feel really nice, come with the pad sensors, and operate smoothly and quietly. I had OEM pads on before, and this feel much nicer. For heavy duty driving and braking from 100+mph, I do not recommend them.

Get Nissan factory pads (softer formula per above reply) from Joe. Use all the pieces of the factory shim kit. Don't go down the path of inferior parts.

I have tried non-OEM pads, and they never felt quite right, even from the start. Obviously, OEM pads are more expensive, but what price can you put on safety?

Definitly go OEM pads for the Q. I'm getting mine changed back soon. The previous owner used aftermarket, and can sure tell the difference in, even a little, aggressive driving. A five foot shorter stop can mean the difference between, just pi**ing in your pants, or taking the Q to the body shop!LOL
