Hi all! I'm brand new to the forum and am really impressed with how comprehensive it is. I have a 91 Q45 with 265K miles that's perfect except for a few cosmetic details.. one of which is a broken dash clock. Do I need to mess with the steering column cover to get the dash face off? What's the best way to get to the clock without cracking plastic? Thanks, you guys're great!

There's a few threads on here, but the basic steps are to start at the shifter bezel and remove things working upwards. You shouldn't have to remove the steering column surround, but there are some delicate clips.

http://www.Carstereohelp.com has some steps on how to remove the stereo.

I think you do need to remove the steering column surround... easy though, phillips head screws accessable from the bottom. Remove the part on top of the ignition switch (you'll know it when you see it) held in place by one screw to prevent ripping the cluster surround near the ignition switch.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advise. I'll keep you updated and'll attempt to upload photos in case anyone else faces a similar problem. Thanks!
