Hello NICO forum and Maxima drivers. I have a question concerning my 91' Maxima's passenger window.

Today when trying to raise the window, something from inside the door made and irritated sound while engaging the up switch. The window got stuck about half way up and would not go up nor down. I took off the door panel for starters and looked down the window gap with the window now pushed all the way down (manually).

PASSENGER DOOR, hopefully this makes sense or i can get pictures.....______________..../......................|.../.......window......|../.........space.......|./________________||.............O<gear...||motor>O..||..........||.............||-shaft..||________||_______|

What I see is the cable running from the motor seems to have slipped off the gear (or pulley) which raises the window along the shaft. There's a piece on that wire that seems to be in place to prevent this from happening, but that has now slid up to the place where the wire is shielded (hopefully this makes sense, the assembly looks a lot like bicycle brakes).

I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this problem and I figured someone probably has because the pulley is plastic and looks a bit slip-worthy. I was able to access the whole inside of the door a LITTLE better by removing the speaker and pulling back the plastic which covers the only other large hole (lower right side) in the door.

What do I do next?

It sound like you need to install a new window regulator.

Mine did this to both sides of my rear windows...don't bother pissing with it man...trust me...it won't work right ever again (or I just didn't have the patience) Either way...go the right route...just order new regulators.

I'm doing that currently...so if I run into any problems doing it I'll let you know...but it seems pretty straight forward.
