91 knock sensor replacement

ive had this q for bout a year now finaaly got it drivable and is real sluggish but i just now got around to checking the ecm code and it was the notorious Knock sensor code... so my question is anyone got an idea of what gaskets im gonna need and what else i might wanna replace while im in it. so my question is replaceing the knock sensors should improve my acceleration? that was the only code that came up and whould i have to erase the code for it to relizing its fixed? and if so is there a way to clear it with out a scanner as its to old for a parts store to clear.
