91 ka24de ECU = 93 ka24de ?

I've replaced my 93 ka24de ECU with 91's, and the car would start but stall within seconds. The 91 ECU has matching spec to my 93, manual, twin cam, california model, everything except for the part number. Can anyone tell me what's wrong and also what does the two digit number on the ECU means? 91 ECU says "15" and 93 ECU says "EP"
