91 ka24de auto transmission need help

hi i got a 91 240sx with a ka24de and my auto transmission wont shift past 2nd how come does any1 have any ideas cause i dont i bought it like that and one more question will a 96 auto transmission bolt to a 91 ka24de i know all manual trannys are the same but are automatics? thanx alot guys ill appreciate any help/advice

Your transmission is in safemode. Electronically there is an issue with it. just junk it and buy the trans from the 96 240sx. it will bolt right up to it. just swap out the sensors and you'll good to go. good luck with it!
