the story is after i replace my ecu my engine cont fuse that is located under the hood keeps on shorting after a little diagnose i found out that my s.c.v. control valve wasnt working then i replace that then now my a/c compressor keeps on running even if i didnt turn on the a/c, i have to unplug the compressor wire to keep it from running... anyone have a problem with theirs before and can give me some advice on what to check, i replace the relays and thermo amp.

check the ground on your relay/all the wires. sounds like your switch or something is shorted and its grounding your relay for the compressor and fan

well now that u mention it when i replace all my relay on my H/L ret cont. relay when i push it down my head light flip up when i let go if it, it went back down so i replace that one too and now its good not sure if the other relay might be defect too... o and yea one more thing after i replace my ecu with the fed ecu my engine idle very high, when i give it gas it stays a 2000 rpm for about 4 sec then slowly drops to 1200 rpm, i check the timing everything is right so im not sure if my IAC valve needs to be clean.

look in the fsm for the idle adjustment procedure. good that you checked your timing now try that

well you know how to use bit torrent if you do then ill give you the link to the alldata link but its going to be long cause the files are about 103 GB if you want to wait, it took me about 4 weeks to finish and its worth it. if you do reply back in need of help ill get you through it... here is the link for the files.

i have a question will the state ref. be strict on how the car idles or only the timing like the smog shop does.

elaborate. but rule of thumb, ref's are usually pickier than most smog techs. rarely you will luck out and get a nice one

hey Wc240 can you ask your buddy at the state ref, see if he can help me out cause im having alot of trouble with my 240 rite now and dont knoe if itll pass i know that itll pass smog inspection but not sure about the other things. all i have in there rite now is obx header, ebay intake, apexi catback, and im waiting on my other ecu cause the ecu that ive bought online doesnt throw an engine check light when the ignition key is in the on position so i need to get another ecu and i have a leak on my fuel tank, find out that when i put on my walbro fuel pump and install everthing in and try to screw all the bolts in and poke a hole through the fuel tank. if you can ask your buddy to help me out cause im short on cash rite now thanks.

header and intake will fail you. fuel leaks will fail.not sure exactly what you want me to ask him, but yan if theres no light in the on position, thatll fail as well

i know i got the stock intake but cant find any header went to the junk no dual cam ka header look at pick n pull in merced, modesto, stockton, sacramento, rancho and on craigslist no 240sx header but still trying to look for a stock header meanwhile im still waiting on my other ecu just order it today but for the fuel tank just found one on craigslist for cheap going to get that one but my idle is at about exact 1000 rpm if i go lower the engine stalls and dies i clean the iacv spray carb cleaner and check the timing everything looks good just dont know if itll pass cause one of my cousin when took his civic to modesto's state ref for his no carb # on intake they are hella strick on his civic like no tow hooks radiator fan hot wire, idle too high which is on exact 1000 rpm different ecu and harness. so if your friend is not that strick like on idle or something like that then ill just take it to him after i get everything fix. i live in merced so ill travel if i have too.

no tow hooks? thats fekkin rediculous. ya he does it by the book,same as me when i get my license. we just try to help peaple get it to pass. i had to argue with a smog tech saturday about my girls car having a cone filter. idle too high will fail it. have you done the TPS adjustment, adle mixture adjustment and the timing? thats a really high idle. mine was at about 1200 then i did the tps/idle/and timing and now it purs at 700. try that stuff with the new ecu cuz itll change. theres a couple of part outs on sac craigslist. also, with the stock one(if you find one)make sure your egr's hooked up if it isnt already

yea i did the tps adjusment and i did it by the alldata so but ill try it when i get my ecu, see if it goes down, yea i check the 240sx in sac too they mostly single or they sold it already. tomorrow im going to go down fresno and check out there pick n pull and yea they said that they cant run my cousins car cause of no tow hook dont know why. i know itll pass the smog inspection cause i just smog it 4 month ago before i put on my fuel pump and poke a hole in the fuel tank. o and i have a apexi catback it has a carb# on it so will it pass the inspection.

i know why. theres nothing to strap it down to( they could strap other places but most peaple dont even strap em down anymore)as for a header-http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/1222687534.html

ill try that one and see if he has it. o and about the exhaust will it pass it has a resonator and carb# or should i get a stock.

as long as the number is for that year car should be good. after you get a stock header,anything after the cat is ok. anything before and its a no no.goodluck man
