Are you having problems with the car or are you just trying to find out?

If he made a switch and you are having issues, I suggest removing the switch and all wiring and see what happenes. You can just pull a fuse on the R32 and have instant RWD.

Switch makes it easier to change on the go from the cabin. In theory, it's a good idea, but you could run into problems if it's not wired right or if a short occurs.

If you have the car, I would start at the switch and just retrace all the wiring and remove it. Make sure any wires that were cut/spliced are just connected back together and you should be golden.
