91 G50 won't start w/sec. light on

I finally got around to checking out a fellow mechanics 91 Q.

Pulled the codes got 55.He told me that if the security light was blinking, the car wouldn't start.If he started it everyday it would start, but if he let it sit a day and it "reset" it wouln't crank.

He also said the owner told him to put the key in the trunk and turn it just before it would open and hold it for 5 secs. The horn would double chirp and the sec light would go off and it would start.

Is there some system security malfunction going on or is the car "searching" for a key fob signal or what?

THERE ARE 3 TAMPER SWITCHES integrated in locks [driver f and passenger f and trunk] inserting the correct key in either and unlocking the door SHOULD turn off alarm system.

If drivers side fails to work try passenger side, obviously trunk works .............replace switch or repair connections inside door or other.

I had an embarrasing moment on a date when this happened.. Just unlock the trunk with the key, then replace the drivers side door switch. You can diagnose this by looking to see if the interior lights come on when only the drivers door is open. Replacing the switch takes about 45 seconds.
