Colt measures their cam differently...like PDM does.
OEM is measured at .500" lift, and that's where the 240/248 #s come from.
And to set some of the myths/misinformation straight:
'91-92 have the good cams, 240/248.
Half of '93 does as well...the later '93s and '94s all have lesser duration, and are most likely identical to S14 cams at 232/232.
So the OEM cam options are:
1) Use '91-92 cams for a littel peak HP increase, but mostly a shift of the power bands over to the right by ~300rpm...and smoother revs at high RPM.
2) Use 2 of the 248 degree '91-92 exhaust cams - One in the exhaust spot, one for the intake spot, but moved 4 teeth over on the sprocket due to dowel pin location. This basically replicates the Nissan Motorsports cam set...good for ~7-8 more RWHP up top, but decreased low end (below 3500).
I have run the '91-92s for +2 years, and recently swapped in an extra exhaust cam for my intake spot, and with the turbo, it's quite nice. I'm a happy camper...
