Hey guys, I'm new at posting on the forums here, but I've been stopping by a lot to check what everyone has to say. But I've been having a problem with my transmission. Basically, when i crank my car up, I can back out just fine and my car will seem to run fine for a few min... it'll shift to 2nd gear, and sometimes it'll shift to 3rd. but after a few min of driving it, it seems like the transmission will just totally give out and start revving up to 4-5k. I did some searches on the forum but didn't really see anything really related to my problem. I was wondering what the problem may be? I checked the transmission fluid and it seemed a bit darker than it should be. Think maybe a nice fluid change might do the trick? gonna go ahead and do a fluid change 2morrow and see if that may be the problem. any other ideas as to what the problem may be?

youve got a bad rev sensor from the sound of it. atleast thats what mine and many more had wrong with ours.. there was a huge thread on how to fix it, but i cant seem to find it anymore i know that my solution was pulling a plug, if you have the FSM its plug E13 on the wiring harness

hope this helps

btw, if anyone needs FSMs http://carfiche.com/manuals020/cars/ seems to have FSMs for nearly all 240s and a ton of other cars

Well, this morning i went out and found the plug that needed to be disconnected and did so. i took it for a spin but was still having the same problem. when the engine is cold the transmission will shift, but when the engine warms up, it'll start having problems shifting... usually from 2nd to 3rd. and after it stops shifting from 2nd to 3rd, ill basically have no pull at all, it just feels like it is in neutral. could a fluid change be in order?

couldn't hurt to do a fluid change. If you're down there, you could probably take a look at the fluid, sparkles or darkness is a bad thing.
