91-94 Sentra SE-R

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I'm looking to get one of these cars, but they seem so rare that it's really hard to find them. Anyways, I was wondering if all of the SE-Rs from this era all had the SR20DE motors?

Just to add, if someone has an SE-R that they want to get rid of, or just a regular Sentra from this era, I might be interested in it.

Yes, all SE-Rs had the SR20DE.

It's not too hard to find, or, at least, shouldn't be.

That looks like an SE-R, but it doesn't say so. Either way, it's a 5spd that's running and looks pretty darn clean, so it's a great candidate for something fun.

It's not that they are to find. Just hard to find one that is decent condition. The se-r's are now 11-14 yrs old.

I was just wondering, in the regular 5-spd Sentra, is there like a shift light or something since there is no tach?

You just guess by sound then? Argh, think I could make a clean a-pillar install of a say 2-5/8 inch tach then? Or anywhere else you suggest?

You should be able to get a gauge cluster to work from a SE or SE-R. Should be able to find one in a junk yard.

RED do you know how to find them in not so great condition. As long as body is staight (Enough) and mechanicals work to a degree, i would be willing to do a certain amount of work on an SE-R. The only problem is not so great cars arent posted online as much (and unfortunetly i didnt snap the only one ive seen). While rebuilding the engine isnt entirely impossible for me, my nissan research tells me to suspect a tranny replacement in any car that need the engine rebuilt or HG replaced. luckily those arent too bad price wise.

Look for a local SE-R or SR20 board, they lurk there a lot. If I'd had the cash, I'd have picked up one of two mostly-good (straight with a good tranny or a good motor) SE-Rs nearby as an AutoX car or something.

ABS has been an option for every Sentra ever, I believe, including mine, and I don't have it.

I checked Edmunds, it said it was an option in '91-'94.
