The car smokes a bit even when in vacuum, and then after building up any amount of boost and letting off, a big smoke cloud will come out of the exhaust, the more boost I build up the bigger the cloud that comes out. The smoke seems to be coming out of the passenger side turbo. I'm thinking it's a turbo seal. I was mainly wondering if anyone had any other ideas on what it might be and was wondering if this was a possible diy fix or if I should take it to a shop.

First and foremost, welcome. Second, it sounds exactly like the seals are going. Third, really its up to you whether you need to take it to a shop or not. If you have the ability to do the work than there is no reason to take it to a shop unless you don't have the time or desire. If the seal is gone you will need a new turbo or at minimum a CHRA that you can use the housings off your old one on. replacing the seals (whether yourself or through a shop) will be an exercise in futility unless the shop is a specialized turbo shop with the ability to high speed balance the assembly.

So basically, you're saying that I am going to need a new turbo? What are some good places to look for a stock z32 turbo? I've only been able to really find anything that looks reliable on z1 motorsports.

If the turbo is the culprit then yes you will need to replace the mechanical part of the turbo. Z1, Specialty Z, Import Parts Pro, Concept Z Performance, all of these sell the factory CHRAs and full turbos. Going directly through Garrett/Honeywell may prove problematic because the factory t22/25 turbos were commissioned by Nissan and built specifically for the Z32.

Would it be smart to also get a new wastegate actuator, new oil lines and new gaskets for it as well while I'm changing it out?
