91 300zx Auto

Just got the car, transmisson was rebuilt and new solenoids installed. But shifts hard out of 1st around 4k. I was told of a break in period, But drives extremely good, its very responsive, just from 1st to 2nd. Any idea's?

Question is what is "hard" in your eyes? Most nissan auto transmissions are known to shift hard from first to second. When mine was an auto, it had a good jolt, nothing like whiplash territory, but enough to perk up the passenger.

That would be it than, was just paranoid its my first running nissan lol

I know a lot of people will say don't do it, but I used Lucas transmission treatment, actually helped with the "jolt". Auto's in these cars are known to go out, or just fail suddenly, most of the guys on here call it an "autotragic". Enjoy the car!
