Just bought the car and I havent heard it crank. The guy says the motor is rebuilt, blah blah blah. I have spark and gas going to the rail. However no gas coming from the injectors!! The possibility of having 4 bad injectors... :gotme

So I'm wondering if it is the cam or crank sensor so I just looked and the crank sensor (on the bell housing) is not hooked to anything!!!! And there is no clip anywhere near it that matches it, so what do I do?

The crank sensor will keep me from spraying gas, correct?

Andrew

S13 dont have crank sensors. The cam angle sensor inside the dizzy can cause no injector pulse. Also no power to the ecu can cause that. (check eccs relay/ power to relay)

Ok. That makes sense, but why do I have a sensor on the bell housing? As far as the ECU I have no idea what the relay is! Is there another way to know if it is getting power? I mean it is sitting on the pass side floor so I wouldn't be surprised if it was that.

Thanks,

Andrew

OK so I checked voltage at injectors while starting and got nothing. I also did a diagnosis on the ECU and it gave me 3 slow and 4 fast flashes. What does that tell me?

Code 34 is knock sensor. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when turning the key on?

If you have a sensor on the bell housing that means that you have an s14 trani...thats why there is no plug to it. If you don't know what/where the relay is than you have some reading to do. Google 240sx fsm and get look at the eccs system and wiring.

Ok so I got a known good fuel rail and injectors, still no fuel coming from the injectors. I found a few ground wires behind the left headlight(looking from the front) that were unconnected, grounded those and restarted the ECU and got code 5-5(no malfunction).

I also tried to start using starter fluid and got nothing but a 4 foot flame shot back at me through the intake inlet.

Am I looking at a mechanical timing issue? Would that cause the injectors not to spray? Also I am jump starting, is that a problem?

I just checked the cam position at tdc and I got the rotor from dizzy at plug 1. The lobes on cyl 1 r facing each other and the cyl 4 lobes r facing out.

Is this correct?

PLEASE HELP!

Your cams are correct. Your dizzy is not. Dont worry about where the rotor points.....line up the dizzy like this ...........................0
.......................... ..................o
................................................ 11
The o's are the dots on the dizzy gear, line up the right upper dot to the notch on the dizzy and stab the dizzy while the motor at tdc. That still doesnt fix the fact that you have no power yo your injectors.

Turned the cams 180 decrease out and it started on starter fluid! Sounded loud and rough, but this tells me the cams must have been off. I did some research and on the compression stroke at tdc the cam lobes on cly 1 should be facing outward, mine were facing inward!

Now just need to fix fuel prob...

Any suggestions?

Got a known good dizzy and still no fuel spraying! I got the car to start on starter fluid.

So the injectors and cam sensor are good.

What else would cause my injectors not to spray?

:poke: Come on people! I'LL ACCEPT ANY IDEAS!!!!! :poke:

Do you have 12v at the injectors? Thats the only thing it could be is that you have no power to the inj or your ecu is fried.....that is if the dizzy and everything else is working perfect. Iether way you gotta have power to the injectors all the time so the ecu can decide when to ground the injector and make them fire...fyi if you fallow the power wires back for all injectors ...it comes all to one wire so if you dont have to one you usually wouldnt have power to any of them.
