91 240SX STAYS RUNNING WITH NO KEY

CAR STAYS RUNNING WHEN YOU REMOVE KEY. CAN STALL ENGINE AND DISCONNECT BATTERY. HAS ANYBODY SEEN THIS BEFORE?

i think ignition switches go bad sometimes. jiggle it to see what happens.

DID THAT SEVERAL TIMES STILL SAME THING

the ignition switch is on the other side from the key. its quite small. you can test with multimeter. $47 at napa. its a very simple switch. the key just rotates it. if you stick a screwdriver in the blue part you can rotate it like the key rotates it and test.

You disconnected the electrical connector as circled in this picture? Ok, its not the the switch then.

click the above pic to get medium or large picture. if you see the number 3 terminal on the starter switch, it goes to ignition coil and also back to the relay box to give power to fuel pump. if any hot wire is touching this wire, your car will continue running. a wire for example could be loose under the relay box by battery.

do a search because it might be a common cause for this.
