I just bought this car a little over a week ago and it's already giving me problems. When I go out to start the car, it only does this in the early morning when the car has been sitting for the night. The guy I bought it from did a bunch of work to it to make it run good. It sat in his garage for 3 years.I will start it and it barely starts up and dies. It will turn over and turn on but only for a fraction of a second. When I turn it over again it just turns over and over.

I checked the spark plugs and they are a little black and stunk like gasoline. I cleaned them up (gonna go and buy new ones later today.) I checked the spark and there is spark. I even pulled the whole air induction system out and checked all of that.

I got it to start last night after doing all of it, but it sure blew out a lot of white smoke. After I let it warm up for a few minutes and shut it off to restart it. It started like normal.

I'm going to replace the fuel filter and spark plugs today just to be safe. What do you think my problem could be? It runs fine when it runs it only does this sometimes. Twice this week.

PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you!!

check your coolant temp sensor (a search should bring it up). make sure the resistance is in spec and that the connectors don't have corosion build up on them.

I think I have figured out the problem.

I think that the injector seals are bad. When I let it sit overnight after driving it, the fuel is passing through the injector seals that are broken and just sitting in the cylinders. When I go to start the motor, it's already flooded and won't start.

I called Automotivemachine.com and they said $50.00 per injector + Core charge. So IF it turns out to be that, I am gonna order them.

I'm not car genious, so I'd really truely appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you!

use a fuel pressure gauge to check if the injectors are leaking. install the gauge in the fuel line, turn the car to "ON" so the pump runs, then watch the pressure. if it drops quickly, then the injectors are leaking.
