Have you checked your fuses? Sounds like you shorted something out.

Check all the underhood and drivers kickpanel fuses.

The clicking from under the armrest is about where the starter is located??

And now the little light on the dash that reminds you the door is open is blinking faintly when the door is closed

I am having this EXACT same problem. I have not been able to fix this but I know when it happened and what I was doing. I had the car running a couple minutes and cut it off to go in a store. When I came back out I put the key in the ignition and turned it twice so that I can push my start button. When I got to the second notch on the ignition all of my electronics, lights, dash, headlights - everything - went dead like I had no battery. I pulled fuse after fuse and can't find anything wrong. Totally stumped I opened the hood and checked the breakers. Everything seemed fine there as well. I did notice that somehow my battery cable was slighty loose. I cleaned off my terminals and put the cable back on. Ok - so now I have power. Weird but whatever. I started the car up without a problem and noticed my cd player was off. I hit the power button and the screen blinked and then it cut off... wtf. OK so..

If the overhead lights are on - the clock is lit but blank and the door ajar light is bright

If the overhead lights are off - the clock has numbers and the door ajar light dims but does not go completely out

The headlights do not seem to be part of the equation

If the car is running then the cd player will blink on and the stay off when I push the power button

If the car is not running then the cd player will blink on and off but only AFTER I push the power button

I have absolutely no clue how this happened but it seems to me something has been blown or some how there is a short / loose wire somewhere. What all have you tried to fix the problem? In the morning I'm going to check all the fuses again in case i missed one.

Alright - after doing some quick searching on google I came up with a very simple answer for my problem. I don't know if it's related to yours but who knows.

I had very heavy rain today and the sensor in my drivers door may be damp because of it. When the battery cable came loose I Had my windows down (it wasn't raining) and while I was trying to figure it out the rain soaked me and my car...with my windows down. The best thing I can do for now is hope the hot weather tomorrow will dry out my car enough for the moisture in the sensor to evaporate. This is the same as having a short circuit so it's still possible you wiring job may have a fault and some wires are touching.

As for my power outage I believe it was simply a loose battery cable.

Here's the article I found

good luck

I checked the relays and even replaced them with ones from another car but that did not fix the problem. I went through and checked all the fuses. All the fuses look good. I believe the fuse for the radio/accessories/dome light near the driver side foot board was loose because now everything is working fine.
