I found a 91' 240sx in some classifieds and i havent had time to go and look at it. From the description the body is in pretty bad shape and it has a bad motor and transmission, which isnt a problem because i want to do an engine swap. are there any problems with this year or anything that I should look for when i go and look at it. Thanks.

so you're basically buying the frame? yeah things should be mostly okay. Make sure you're only paying for the frame. And if you want you can pay a local mechanic around there to look at it and give you a report.

how much? i've seen car in the junkyard that sound better than the one you described.

check the frame rails where they turn to go up into the engine bay, that's a common place for rust. a car with crumbling frame rails isn't suitable for a swap.

I didn't figure the dents were common I thought it was just my car, and the side blinkers, I have one missing too, why does this happen commonly, and lastly can someone explain more in depth about the 3rd gear thing, I know it has a grinding sometimes which was made up for by the wieghted shift knob, but why exactly does this problem exist? thanks

Oh, and sorry I sort of hijacked your thread..
