'91 240SX LE, Super Hicas or not ?

Well this is my first post, but i have done a lot of pre-post searching for Super HICAS, and if i have it or not, but this is why i ask. I Just bought my friends '91 240SX LE, on the right 1/4 panel, just in front of the right tire it says "SUPER HICAS", but theres nothing on the left side, it is an LE 5spd, full leather interior, moon roof, etc...

I read there should be something on the dash to indicate "HICAS", true or false ?

There should be 3 or 4 hoses coming out of the powersteering pump ?

It would have the LSD in it if it was, how can i tell if it is a LSD car or not by looking at it ?

Is there anything in either of the 3 fuse boxes, 2 under hood, and 1 under dash that would indicate "HICAS" ?

Welcome to NICO.

If your car has HICAS, it'll have a VLSD. Try doing a mean old burnout and then count the stripes. If you have two, you might have HICAS. If you have only one, you almost certainly don't.

You might be able to tell through the VIN, but I can't be sure.

There is a way to tell through VIN. go to this site http://garage.projectraine.com/go to guides and then VIN / Model ID Decoding (S13/S14)Read through that and you'll figure it out. I'm sure there are other ways to find out but this is the only one I know.

sweet site, thanks for the heads up, well i did a wicked burn through a turn and got 2 stripes, so that rules out the VLSD, but isn't there supposed to be some kinda indication the system is on and running ?

*edit* just went on the site, she ain't a HICAS car !!!!!!!! waaaaaaaaaa, me sad now, gotta do some doughnuts to make me feel better :-D*edit*

You could also look under the car. If the rear end has tie rods, that's a good sign that it has Super HICAS.
