OKay, so i just bought a '91 240sx off a friend of mine. It's having problems starting. I can push start it fine, the headlights and dash lights work when i turn the key. But sometimes it only clicks (the solenoid i'm guessing) but no other sound is heard. Other times it turns on but only before huffing a little first. I find it usually starts after it's had a time to rest. Any help of what my porblem is, all i need is a name of what's going on.:help

alright.... so i had a solenoid clicking problem myself just a little bit ago. if you have a voltage tester. test to see how many volts are going to the solenoid when you crank it over. It's easier with two people. when i tested it I only had around six volts going through. You need more than that to turn the starter motor. If this is the case you could have bad relays or park/neutral switches , you can also try hitting the starter with a hammer while somebody's trying to start it. Then you probably need a new starter
