'91 240sx FB... overdrive light light flashes 16 times when I start the car.

'91 240sx FB... My overdrive light light flashes 16 times when I start the car. If I flip the ignition on and off about 45 times without driving, it clears, but after a short drive, it happens again. At the same time, another issue developed. My overdrive doesnt like to engage or disengage smoothly after the car warms up. Are these problems related? Can someone please please please help me?Thanks in advance!Roman

yeah, it sounds like something is wrong with it, and it's throwing you a code.

I don't know anything about auto trannys though, so hopefully someone else can help you out.

my o/d light flashes too, but im pretty sure its unrelated :P

my O/d Off light flashes too, and every time it does it decide to flash, my auto wont shift untill it get to like 4500 or 5000 rpm, no matter how hard i push the gas. it really sucks and it destoying my gas milage.

there's a self-diagnosis procedure that you do w/ the key on-engine off, press da o/d button, shift gears, turning key off, depress gas peddal, set o/d switch back on, then read the flashes

(10 of them will flash--the judgement flash will stay on longer)...
