I've got a 91 240 that's got Super HICAS and it needs a new suspension. It's my summer time daily driver and I'm torn between a strut/shock setup and coilovers. I live in Vermont and roads here are kind of meh so I don't want to drop the car much more than 1.5 inches or so.
Since I've got Super HICAS will I need to do something special to get a new suspension? I was looking at Tokico Blues on ebay and some auction said fits all models exlcuding cars with HICAS. I know they sell a few HICAS eliminator kits, is this the time to get one of them and if I do will I be able to pick any suspension I want? Also, which HICAS eliminator kit is best to get?
I also need new tie rods and I've been looking at various different types of aftermarket pillow ball rods and ends from Kazama, Megan... I'd like to know if these types of tie rods can be used on the street or am I better off going for a stock replacement with rubber bushings?
I'm also trying to compile a parts list of exactly what I'll need to complete this project. So far I've got:
Struts/Springs or ColioversTie Rods and Tie Rod EndsStrut Tower Mounts(do I need these with coilovers or do they come with them?)Also thinking of getting front and rear strut tower barsHICAS eliminator if needed
My car is still totally stock and I'm new to the game of modding a vehicle so if anyone can offer me any time/money saving advice I'm all ears.
