Well I did all in one sweep, didn't start the car at all while I was doing it. I relocated the battery to behind the passenger seat and replaced plug wires with new ones. The motor turns over great, but it's just not firing. And it was running fine just before this. I also took the valve cover off and put it back on, if that matters... just to paint it. I checked over everything and I have all wires hooked up. It turns over like it's getting ready to start... all that is good... it's just not firing... like it's not getting gas or spark. The fuel pump comes on when I turn the key and the fuse is fine. Any ideas?

did you check all the wiring? It's not just the wire running to the starter, there are those two little plugs as well. other thing to check is the ground on the - terminal.

Why would that prevent the motor from actually firing? The motor is turning over fine.... it's just not getting either fuel, spark, or air (compression). And I don't know why. Will grounds prevent those?

might not be getting all the juice it needs. The other two wires that hook up to the battery at the + terminal run the other electronics. Make sure those two wires are hooked up to the battery, not daisy chained to the starter.

Double check that you have the wires in the correct order. Also, make sure that they've "snapped" onto each spark plug. And, make sure the main coil wire is seated correctly, too.

Hmmmm, I still don't think your getting what I'm saying. The starter turns the motor over fine.... everything is getting juice. The starter is actually turning as it should at 400-500 RPM. The motor just wouldn't fire, like it wasn't getting any gas or something. ANYWAY, I figured out the problem... it was 1 or both of two things... the valve cover hose was severally cracked and the grounding wire on the alternator was loose. Both don't really make sense, since some people actually just put a littler filter on the valve cover breather... what would a little leak (causing better air flow) in the valve cover tubing do? Ah whatever. Now I have another problem, I can't rev passed 3300 RPM or it starts cutting out and throws me forward in my seat. Really weird. It runs fine up until then and then the motor runs like ****e. I messed with the timing a bit, that didn't do anything.

ah unmetered air coming in from that cracked hose. Yeah sorry I didn't quite understand what you were referring to with the problem.
