Well I did all in one sweep, didn't start the car at all while I was doing it. I relocated the battery to behind the passenger seat and replaced plug wires with new ones. The motor turns over great, but it's just not firing. And it was running fine just before this. I also took the valve cover off and put it back on, if that matters... just to paint it. I checked over everything and I have all wires hooked up. It turns over like it's getting ready to start... all that is good... it's just not firing... like it's not getting gas or spark. The fuel pump comes on when I turn the key and the fuse is fine. Any ideas?

have you checked the ground on the battery side and also the two power lines that went to the + terminal?

Why would I need to check that if the starter is turning the motor over fine? Everything is getting power, the motor just isn't firing.

hmm make sure those two wires that are coming off the old battery terminal have connection, not daisy chained at the starter unless you're running pretty heavy gauge wire from the battery to the starter.

thanks 180fan, I found the problem. It was either or both of the alternator ground wasnt connected and the valve cover breathing tube was severally cracked. Thanks for your help though man! I got a new problem though. The engine runs like **** after 3300 RPM and cuts out throwing me forward in my seat.... uhh wth? No racing for me until I get that fixed.

Check your MAF. I had the same problem and swapping it out did the trick

Zomg the TPS sensor was hanging on barely by nothing. It obviously wasn't put on tight. I went and got the screw from my old motor and put it on, it's back on now BUT still does the exact same thing.

Would a MAFS start doing that all of a sudden though? Once I hit that RPM it wont cut out necessairly it just throws me back and forth in my seat trying to accelerate. It does the same thing in neutral too. Rev it up to 3300 and it bounces up and down trying to get higher. I wish I had a spare MAFS. Is there any other way to test it without replacing it? Thanks alot!

It was not the MAFS. I just got another and replaced it. I does the same thing.

Make sure you didn't fudge any engine to chassis grounds when you removed the battery wiring.

Would that prevent it from revving passed that point? Or poorly anyway. The ground on the alternater I know isn't that great.
