My 240 has absolutely no torque anymore. It hesitates so bad I have to rev it to high RPM's to accelerate like "normal". Once it hits about 4100 RPM it doesn't jump anymore, instead it's smooth acceleration but the engine is loud as hell you can tell somethings not right because it still doesn't accelerate worth a damn. If the idle drops too fast it kills itself too. And if you give it too much gas it bogs down really bad. Today I came to a crossroads and let the RPM drop too fast and it killed itself. So I go to start it and it doesn't start. Long story short I flooded it and had to let it sit, unplug the fuel injectors, then start it, plug them back in... etc... and now I can't get it started back up after dieng me without flooding it. This has been going on for awhile and is driving me crazy. I don't have alot of cash to throw around to try and fix a bunch of things I think is wrong. So I'm sort of hoping for someone to pop up and say "Oh yeah, it's just the....". I'm also open to suggestions or ideas. I need to get this thing sold since I'm leaving for the military in a couple months, so it would be nice to have it running decent so I can get more than pocket change out of it. Thanks alot everyone. Here's my cardomain web page for ****s and giggles. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2238486

I've replaced the MAFS, TPS, checked the plugs and grounding all trying to fix it as well, so it's not those. Thanks again.

Here's some more info, I've posted this on 240 technical as well, but both forums seem a bit dead so I wouldn't think it would hurt.

Now it doesn't idle AT ALL. At first I was unplugging all the injectors and starting it up to get the excess gas out, then plugging them back in... now that doesn't work half the time either. I have to keep jumping out of the car in the middle of traffic to either push the car or try unplugging the injectors. So this time I just sat and waited then finally got it to start, and noticed it was running very hot, and even more sluggish. So at this point it's not even driveable, I can't keep jumping out of the car doing this in traffic. When it died coming out of my neighborhood since it won't idle, I unplugged 1 injector at a time and tried starting it and saw no difference. Although the engine did seem to try a little better to start with the #4 injector unplugged, it didn't start up.

Sounds like one or two of your injectors is bad--If you can get someone to keep the car running while you unplug each injector--I think you will find your problem. your car needs to be looked at--Nissan injectors fail allot.

You may have leaking fuel injectors. To test them, unbolt the fuel rail from the intake manifold and pull off the entire assembly. Keep the fuel hoses still connected and don't remove any individual injectors. Also keep the electrical connectors on the injectors. With the assembly now away from the intake, turn the ignition key to the run position WITHOUT STARTING THE ENGINE. Now observe each injector to look for leaks. There should be no drips.

Make sure you have at least 4 spare insulator rings for the injectors in case some are damaged during rail removal.

I'll try this. Thanks.

rotorimp, I just tried unplugging each injector at a time when it was running bad again, this time not when I'm stalled in my neighborhood haha. The last 2 I unplugged individually and it wouldn't run. The 2nd from the front of the motor I unplugged and it ran pretty much like it usually does. So I thought, wow, maybe it's just the injector. So I tried the first one too, and it ran just like with the 2nd one removed. So I was thinking maybe both were bad? Then just for the hell of it I tried the last 2 again, and it ran like the others. What the hell. So everyone of them I unplug now, as long as I give it a decent amount of gas when I start it so the idle doesn't drop too fast, I can keep it at idle. So I guess it's not the injectors?

I'm going to go ahead and remove the fuel rail to make sure, I just have to find the how-to and I'll let you guys know what I find. Thanks.

Still waiting for a decently warm day to check the spray.... I was also thinking maybe it could be the Fuel Pressure Regulator, could that be a strong possibility too?
