Installed 10K miles ago:

-6 Puck Clutch Plate cerametallic (mebum)-Heavy Duty Pressure Plate-New Throw-Out bearing-New Pilot Busing-DID NOT RESURFACE FLYWHEEL!!! (DOHH!!) but the flywheel looked decently flush.-New Master Cylinder & Slave-Clutch grabs excellent-Clutch Is bled, dampner removed, and plenty or travel on clutch to properly disengage ANY clutch (over adjusted to counter-act this problem, with no beneficial results)

Heres the Problem:Six Months AGO> after all these parts were installed, the car was engaging and dis-engaging fine. In the past month I have developed this problem.

Occasionally when I drive around and when I slow down almost to a stop and i remain in 1st gear, clutch fully depressed> the car wants to continue to move forward>then I press on brake hard and it just stops trying.

My hypothesis is that since I didnt re-surface my flywheel, and the clutch probably toook a chunk out of the flywheel in the past six months, that the clutch has made its own groove into the flywheel> In which it sticks in there even under dis-engagement.

Has ANYONE ever heard of such thing? Would this even be possible? If you think about it> when I come to a stop, and it stick in there (lets just say) and when i brake hard enough to get it to break free from the flywheel, then it sits there normal.

Now please dont tell me my pedal is out of adjustment, because i am 100% positive on this, and I have more then enough travel on my clutch to disengage it 3x over.

Also the new slave cylinder was replaced AFTER this problem occurred!!

I would just like to know if this problem has ever been observed from anyone before?

ALSO:

Could it be a synchro in my transmission? I know my transmission is about to give up soon, because it occasionally grinds 4th gear and its hard to get into 1st gear sometimes as well.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

I think it is a bad pressure plate. You are depressing the clutch but it is not disengaging the pressure plate. That is the most likely cause i can think of. I have seen that problem in a toyota MR2. You should check the pressure plate. The clutch would not eat away the flywheel serious enough to stick on it. the pressure plate would eat away before the flywheel anyway since it takes more of the stress from the clutch.

Hope this helps out at all.Daniel

You need to look at your slave cyl travel while some one is pushing the pedal down. That thing better move over a good inch and a half. If it doesnt you have a hydrolic problem like air in the system.
