My steering has been slightly stiff, thought I had it fixed when I put in a new brake switch. Better but not quite it. Then I took apart the pump and cleaned it out, it was clean anyway -but what the hell, you never know. I haven't driven it yet since I took the pump apart. I didn't want to start it (then shut it off) to see if the pressure switch closes or opens and test the ohms; since I don't even know what the specs should be!

It looks like there is a pressure switch in the high pressure side off the pump, the plug has two female connectors in it, as does the sensor, it screws into a bung directly on the pressure side hardline just ahead of the solenoid.

The real question is is there a test or specs anywhere for this thing? I can't find anything about it in the FSM ST section. No schematic -no wiring diagram ....ZIP !! My FSM is copyright 1989...could this be an oversight ?

I did manage to screw it into a hydraulic pump and ohm it at 1.3 @ 200 ohm

Any ideas or answers ? Thanks.

Your talking about the solenoid that is near where the steering shaft is...

If so you need to hook it directly up to 12 volts, and it should switch on and off..

Whoops!.. just noticed this is in the wrong forum...

Nope it's not the solenoid that's fine, this is just forward of it screwed into the hardline.Just like a pressure switch

The click from a known good PS pressure solenoid is substantially louder than a fuel injector. FYI
