Hi guys i have a ka24de that i am currently in the process of turning into a KAT. i dont have a turbo yet and am planning on breaking in the engine without the turbo first to get a nice breakin...dont judge me :) . So my question is what spark plug gap should i use?
i keep reading up and hearing .044 is oem and .035 and below is for boost. i would like to know if it matters that i over bored it to a 90mm, or since i havent added boost should i just stick to .044

If you don't know your compression ratio or required fuel for tune its a specious variable.
When in doubt use iridium spark plugs good for 100,000 miles, no gaping required.

Do you still have the stock compression ratio? If so, stick with the stock (.044) gap until you add boost. And as Bigvinnie said, go with the iridium plugs. They do have more heat to ignite everything.

Here's another part of it.....you want a colder heat range plug for boost. NGK has the 5 heat range for normal daily driving, recommend 6 for spirited driving on stock motor, then 7 for boost/high compression. Any real questions can be answered by the experts. NGK has a hotline where you can tell them the specs of your motor (or potential motor) and they'll tell you exactly which plug to use and what gap to have.
